What's so cool is that they have a CNC machine inhouse and whenever they like to mod a part or change the way it sits / is designed, they just go over and make the part, and test fly on the spot.

awesome pictures. very nice that the tail servo is mounted up front!! but still weird he hasn't put his JK muffler onto it.

also the fan shroud and cooling system looks pretty good. beats the raptor system :glasses2:

helicopter looks great so far

would it be the exact same canopy as the electro 600? perhaps I'll get one painted allready

Looking at that last picture, I am sold. Now to hound my local hobby shop to see when he will be taking pre-order for this helicopter. Then I will have the best of both world!!!

I was looking foward to this nitro but think i'm going to go with a raptor Titan/OS 50 Hyper combo. I love my 600, but was hoping the 600N would be a little different

Hi jetblue2135,

In what way should the nitro version be different ? I like the way the electro version flies, and if possible i would like the nitro-version to fly like the electro.

I think Align does a good job to keep the heli-design as close to their electro-version.

Can't wait to get my hands on the nitro version tho !!

Grtz,
Dirk

I own both and I find the 600 is much more rewarding to fly, the control system is smoother, the heads response is better, after flying the 600 for 8 month the Raptor is a bit of a bus. One other major consideration is the cost of spares, in the UK Raptor 50 spares are around twice the cost of 600 parts. I think the nitro version will be different enough, just changing from electric to glow will change its characteristics.

My lhs is drooling... there are so many experienced heli pilots saying "that the 600 is the sweetest flying 50 sized machine on the market" but the electric-phobic gassers won't go there. Now they can have their own sweet 600. It's just a little noisey and smelly, thats all.

I have a Raptor that I put the Compass CCPM kit on. It flies very well; however, I think the 600 head is more stable yet more responsive with faster role rates.

Since I am already at CCPM, I might just throw on a TREX head. I am running 620 blades and that is a nice feature.

I also think the Raptor belt system is probably a bit better then the TREX 600 belt system. Though the tail shaft drive system is probably better then both.

The thing is, I like flying the TREX 600 so much more that I might just give up on Nitro all together. With the Neu 1910 motor I can get 90 performance in a 50.

Not sure if it can get much better that that. :glasses2:

One last note: Flight time. Trex 600 on 8s flying 11t gives me about the same pop as my Raptor (needs 13T) but I can get 8 minute flights.(Same as my raptor) Batteries are less then 100 f after landing.

On Second thought, after seeing that video. Maybe a nitro trex wouldn't be so bad. My Raptor does not fly like that. I am sure the head makes the difference. I wonder what the total weight savings is as well. <6.5 lbs. It looks Align nailed it on the 50 design.
