Default Power supply question

I have a converted power supply from a computer that I use to power my ElectriFly Polycharge 4 charger. I can charge 4 batteries at about 2 amps before the input voltage drops too far and the charger stops.

I recently got a SkyCharger 6200 and when I connect this charger to the power supply I can only charge one battery at 1.5 amps before it shuts down. Any ideas on why this would happen? I would have though I could charge at 8 amps just like the other charger.

Also another thing I noticed is that if I have the power supply plugged in and then try to connect the charger to the PS it will shut off. I have to connect the charger to the PS and then plug the PS in.

Thank

Could be the minimum input voltage the the skycharger is higher? That or the skycharger is not very efficient.

Hey Josh. Yeah... maybe pick up one of these they are awesome. I have the 42A version... it will serve you well for a long long time.

$50 shipped!

another option is pick up a deep cycle ($90 at walmart) and now you can charge at the field and at home.

Yeah, I have seen that power supply. That is probably what I will end up getting. I noticed there is a 42 and 47 amp version. What's the difference? Also what do I have to do to it to make it work?

42A is plenty of power... and you just plug it in

You do need to solder wires to the outputs though. Its very easy.
