Wow it is finally here! 1.3 update manual reads very well! Good job Dr Ben.

The first weekend in months I can't fly and it comes out. I will update over the weekend and fly during the week.

Can someone please tell me what phase sensors are compatible?

I am really looking forward to testing this out.

Hobbywing is what's listed in the manual.

Yes I saw that but I am sure there would be a few others that it would work with.

You should be good with that. I really would suggest resetting all of the advanced menus.

I couldn't stand it I updated my 450pro and got to fly for about 4 min before it got to dark. All I can say if there are problems now its the pilot!!! My 450 was rock solid with std settings per update guide. I hope to put some time on it tomorrow and maybe upgrade and try out my 700e

Default CGY-750 Version 1.30 Parameter List

Gentlemen,

Just got done modifying the Excel spreadsheet for Version 1.30.
.
HF wouldn't let me upload it as an Excel file, so I renamed it with a ".txt" file extension. Once you download it to your computer, just replace the ".txt" with ".xlsx".
.
BTW - I'm not taking credit for this spreadsheet. . . I stole it from someone else here on HF or RR . . .
.
Also, let me call this one a "Beta" version . . . knocked it out in about an hour this afternoon - that's my disclaimer and I'm sticking to it!!!
.

test flew my JR e-6 2 packs this morning, The bounce on elevator axys is gone, and I am very happy with the results. Good job, Futaba.

One thing I would like clarified is the default setting of 130% for cyclick ring. I wonder if it won't cause any binding.

RE the swash ring, it will bind on the bench but not in the air. It was discovered in testing that the system was pulling back too much travel (well under the point of a bind) in flight and killing cyclic rate. Opening up the swash ring fixed that issue.

Use the Hobbywing sensor. The Hyperion does not work.

I agree. If you end up needing a little more cyclic rate to get up to the angualr rate in your chosen flight mode, you will be fine opening up the AIL and ELE swash rates to 62-65%. What I do NOT want guys to do is mess with static throws down at or below 9D and especially for 3D because you are cutting into the compensation headroom of the gyros. You will have pokey cyclic rates too. If the model feels too quick with 10 or so degrees of cyclic, tone it down with transmitter AIL and ELE dual rate to taste. This is NOT the same as trying to reduce control authority by reducing the swash AFR's.

Ben

thanks for your info on cyclick ring. I had turned it down to 100prior to my test this morning but will turn it back to the defatlt value.

DR ben

reviewing the setup notes i see the common path you where defining for me previously. all of the info on tech tunnig guide makes a lot of sense now. and i see a common path a lot of setting have been worked on to give accurate default offerings.

one area if you would advice would be the swash rates i see the advice is 50 -70 range

then it is mentioned to make them both the same i beleve from the notes

would that give a different pitch on ali and ele

for example now i have 51 on ali and 60 on ele which gives me 10 degrees

if they where averaged to both 55 say would that not give a cyclic inbalance ??

i no its a concept from the old 1.2 but the cyclic setup principle may apply so when i upgrade tomorrow i understand this point

thanks

There was actually a trigonometry error in the control algorithm in 1.2 that consistently caused a mismatch between the AIL and ELE AFR's to yield the same throw. You should observe little mismatch with V1.3. Keep the swash AFR values for AIL and ELE the same; testing proved that system internal calculations work best with the AFR's matched.

*****It is OK to have the swash PIT AFR at a different value than the AIL/ELE.

Rule of thumb: This is a new day. V1.2 is history.

While I was setting Ail/Ele rates, following the instruction at the end of the update manual, I set them so both angles match, the rates ended being equal.

My rates were off by about 3-5% on two of my machines. Should I equal them and use endpoints to get equal throw, or is the % low enough to not really matter?

Match the AFR's. You can precisely match static travel with dual rate, but I would just fly the model and tune the dual rates as/if needed to match the feel.

.
Are you still recommending to turn down the D.Gain to 50% or leave it where the preset value is?

Guys,

To be VERY CLEAR:

1.2 is history along with its tuning recs. Off the bench fly 1.3 with its defaults as they will work well for the vast majority of models. We worked A LONG TIME arriving at workable defaults.

Please read the instructions and tuning notes.

Dr Ben

If the afr's aren in the high 70's like 79 to get to 10 degrees of static cyclic..... can you take the transmitter end points up from 100 to say 140 and that would bring the afr's down to 68-70.

Thank you
