I agree, and I'm anxious to see what's next and the new technology that will undoubtedly come about.

the word apparently is well in place.
we'll only know if the 2 blade is flown with the same new mechanics, the same power set up and flown by the same pilot under the same weather conditions... I could imagine that the combo new head plus new swashplate is not yet available so therefore Robert simply might not have had a choice but to use the 3 blade Belgo |

Gerd pointed out that this was not a World Record speed event and it was just the fastest run and not the average of both directions.
I think the Diabolo-S getting 298kpm with two blades helps put this in perspective. This is not to say anything against the Diabolo-S, just that the TDV with 3 blades may have had a 17kmh advantage over a two blade machine or this may have had to do with them shoe horning a Pyro 850 Comp in there rather than the Pyro 750 Comps they were using last year.

By the way, I don't know what Miles is running now, but he was using an X-Nova XTS 4535-520, which is supposed to be comparable to the 850 Comp. That is still a great speed for all helis. FAI world record or not, they were moving. An RC heli making a 195mph pass? Courtesy of Mark Muller...

What happened at the end of that video? It looked like there was some kind of failure and the heli was dropped into the brush.

I've flown scale helis with retracts. No issues and I'd do it again.

Interesting kosmik placement! By the looks of it it will sit on top of the batteries and be. "floating" when you remove the batteries from the heli?
In the photos without the canopy on it seems to be sitting higher (using the swash as a reference) than where the canopy would sit? Would the heat generated by the esc affect the batteries if it was in direct contact?

There was never that much of a reliablility problem....unless one didn't set up the linkages properly.....causing servo stalling and so forth. They will add weight....and will draw extra servo current. It's all a tradeoff. I think it would be way cool...... |

Like the tail boom, already aerodynamically shaped.

Hi,
You'll find here some pictures I made during Pöting Speedcup event: https://plus.google.com/photos/10159...41495887950769 This heli is really a beauty and everything fits in the narrow carbon made canopy. Most of all, Jan takes a lot of time to present to you and to explain his work. Enjoy & regards Sébastien |
