Default Tarot ZYX setup problem

Could one of you ZYX experts help me out with this new TArot ZYX ?

WHen I move my rudder stick left or right, my pitch servo (right front) rises and falls with it. IS this normal ?
I assume I have a wiring problem, but it looks ok.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanx
GAry

Best guess,...... the gyro calls the swash plate servos 1,2 &3.
However, the gyro plugs into the receiver(futaba anyway) but uses different channel numbers 1, 2 & 6 for the swash.

Thank-you for your reply.

I have narrowed the problem down to one area, maybe it will mean something to you.

My issue is with Channel 1 on the gyro. Whichever servo I plug into that Ch.1, that servo moves with my rudder stick.

There is a cross-up somewhere......

Check swash setup in your TX. should be set to 90degree swash I think. not a 120.

So which stick moves channel 4?
Have you tried a reset of the gyro?
Do you have the usb lead?.... the program takes you through the setup.

The rudder stick moves Ch.4. Unfortunately it also moves Ch.1
How do you reset the gyro...I assume with the USB cord...which I do not have....can you buy it separately ?

I have the program box on order....can I reset the gyro with that do you know ?

I have the copterx, but I believe it's the same as the ZYX with different firmware. So yes, you should be able to reset with the program box.

http://www.ehirobo.com/shop/product_...ducts_id=11555
Again, I believe this works with both, check further.

It's the best way to setup as it walks you through, IMHO,anyway, download the software, it gives an insight into it's workings/programming(copterx, I guess ZXY is similar),....... the box is great for field adjustments.

You can also do a reset with the sticks,........ if you are good at counting flashing lights!

Good info here:

Try this..... Plug the servos into the correct places on the ZYX.......then try switching the black and white wires at RX. The black and white wires are for gain and pitch servo. They may have solder these two wires into wrong place in the ZYX

You can reset the gyro with stick commands. It's called DataReset (6 flashes). Page 15 of my manual.

Seems strange indeed. The only other thing I can think of to check is to use the monitor function on your TX. When you move the rudder, only the rudder arrow should move. Maybe you have some weird mixing programed in at the TX? Just grasping at straws here.

If you have the program box or usb-pc connection to the FBL, you could probably also monitor the input signals from RX to the FBL and see if your getting multiple inputs on just rudder only at the stick.

Think perhaps you need to work through this methodically.

Check tx has no mixes and is setup with a new heli model, no swash mixing
If you have a programmable rx then reset it to default

To verify the above connect the 4 servos directly to the rx and check there are no interactions with the others servos when relevant stick is moved.(effectively same as suggested in above post without using usb/box)

If no interactions, reconnect ZYX and see if the problem reappears, if so try a reset, otherwise I think it's faulty.

good luck!

Thanx for your input guys. I just received the program box in the mail and am just trying to figure the options out. As you suggested, if I can monitor what is going on, that would be helpful.

Concerning my TX monitor, when I move the rudder stick, only the rudder moves on theTX, so at least that is a good thing.

I think the problem lies with the FBL, just strange that no one else has had a similar problem...makes me wonder....

This is just a shot in the dark but is there a chance that you have some sort of revo mix enabled in your transmitter or the Tarot unit???
I think that if it was enabled that it may do this very same thing

Good luck. I know these problems can be very trying on a person

You may try taking the ZYX apart to see if you have a bad solder joint between the two ports ( ch.4 & 1 )

To me the only thing that makes any sense is a bad solder joint between those two channels as you have mentioned....clean as a whistle !
