One thing you can improve is, you can run the servo wires inside the fuselage. Looks a lot better than those sticking out.

Mine came with the cheap canopy too. I think that's how they are getting the cost way down on the kits. Take out the FG canopy and substitute the much cheaper plastic one. They can still sell the good one. It's not a bad idea really. I'd rather have the cheaper initial kit price. I can buy the good canopy later. It's cheaper to crash the plastic one anyway.

I got the painted red/white one and it is nothing to brag about either. Had my first rub with the rgrass the other day and it busted in about 3 places. Just a hard landing. Has anyone gotten one of the all white replacements? They look like they may be made of the more flexible "bleach bottle " plastic. I am not spending the $$$ for the fg canopy until they make one that fits right.

Yea- I think they are all crapp unless you spring for the fg one- but of course it doesnt fit right so you get cracks in the finish. Wish there was another good looking canopy that would work.

What is that black box on the tail boom? Very very exposed to blades...

The "black box" is the FMA IR sensor. You can see the stabilizer AP2000i from Spartan RC on the frame. I flip the "Aux2" switch on my DX7 and the heli stabilizes in the air (a kind of bail-out for an inexperienced flyer ) It works like a charm. And the IR sensor has to be put on the boom, it needs a free view to all four directions.

Here's mine...all stock, which suits my flying abilities (or lack thereof) just fine...

Huge thanks to Bob for his build videos...they were extremely helpful, not only for the hurricane, but for my T-Rex as well. You rock!!!

The fleet!

Those skids do look nice. Did you have to drill any new holes or did the stock ones line up okay?

I also like the Gator teeth protection stuff around the top of the canopy.

zjuggler,

Nice color scheme on the canopy. Looks like it will be quite visible in the sky.

Trex 600 nitro holes line up they just need .5mm elongated out wards.
you also don't the rear spacer between the frame and the skids

Yeah...I use an airbrush and acrylics (easier cleanup/thinning). I kinda did a rush job on the Hurricane because I wanted to fly it the next day, so there are a couple of spots where the masking tape was pulling up some of the silver because it wasn't 100% dry. Doh! (But you can't really see it from a distance, so what the heck...) And then I ran out of clearcoat...so it's not as "shiny" as the T-rex.

Default Flame On!

Thought I posted this before...I guess it got wiped out in the forum hiccup. Anyway...decided to try to try doing a flame job for my Huricane. It didn't come out looking as much like actual fire as I wanted, but it's still fairly interesting in an abstract kida way.

If I can't FLY like a hotshot, at least my hurricane can LOOK like one!
