Default Torque tube question

I have a trex 250se and am thinking about installing the torque tube tail. Is there a link to show what parts I need for this conversion. TY IN ADVANCE!!!

Can I just ask why you want to do the conversion? From everything I've read the torque tube on the 250 is more temperamental and more fragile than the belted tail.

My 250 is the SE version with the belt and I love it, it just flies and flies with no maintenance, and the tail has survived a ton of crashes too.

I didn't realize a TT was a problem on a 250. If the belt is no problem I'll just stick with it.

Personally if you fancy the TT version forget the conversion and just get the 250 Pro DFC, the conversion is never right.

I use to have the 250se and it was good while learning and like myxiplx said it takes knocks if you hit the tail on the ground, but I don’t do that anymore.

I bought the 250 Pro DFC, set the TT and forget it. I sold the 250se as soon as I got the Pro DFC.

A lot of people have had problems with the gears being fragile. It can be fixed, but I've found the belted tail to be totally trouble free. Plus the boom mounted tail servo gives you a lot more room for mounting a FBL unit in the frames.

I've don the conversion and very satisfied with it. You need:
  • the torque tube H25130
  • the tail gear housing H25129
  • the tail pitch control arm H25134
  • the tail gears H25G002XX & H25G001XX
  • the boom mount and front gear housing H25133
  • the bearings for the front gear
Cost overall about 90-100€.

The other parts you can take from the belt drive. I found the new (black) gears beeing very sturdy. In my opinion the tail is more precise than the belt drive, but not as much better that you must update. My torque tube got damaged two times in hard crashes, I think, I had to change the same amount of parts with the belt drive. The gears survived, only the shafts were bend / broken.

So it's to you to decide

regards Wolfgang
