Noticed I had a single chipped tooth on the umbrella gear, and changed the bearing the hard way. Ended up not seating right. The method you show makes it much easier. Thanks!

I have changed my TT gears using this video several times with no issues. This week I changed them out with new gears and after I put everything back together, the gears feel notchy, like they aren't quite meshing together right. I pulled it all apart, put in another new set of gears (both umbrella and the other gear) and same thing... its notchy and makes more noise than I am use to hearing. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking of shimming my rear TT gear to get rid of the sloopynes but I dont knw hw to remove the rear TT gear ...the ones that inside the casing ...properly. Would you mind?

i had the same problem with my rear tt gears on the new v2 style tail gearbox, after i installed the new gears i had fouled up the bearings in the tail case attached to the boom block. the gears fit the bearings soooo tight i think i messed up the bearings by applying too much pressure to the gear when installing it. but i see no way around this because u have to geth the bearings in there one way or another. heck withit i just bought a new one .

i would like to know how to replace these gears without messing up the bearings tho???

I don't think this method will work well with the newer black gears, they're too tight and the side load on the bearings tapping them out like this damages or destroys them. Does anybody have a good method or is the outer bearing a throwaway with the black gears?

A c clamp and deep socket who's outer diameter is equal to the bearings' inner perhaps?

Has anyone tried freezing / lowering the temp on the umbrella gear, heating the bearings and then sliding them in? I'll give it shot, (when they arrive).

Don't know if the plastic will behave the same as metal, as I have done it with the OWB and it just slides into the casing. Once expanded at room temp. has worked flawlessly.

A 12mm deep socket worked just fine.

Tried freezing umbrella gear, didn't shrink like OWB does.
