I took two heavy duty servo extensions, removed the signal wire leaving just the pos and neg pins, cut them to the proper length, soldered the cut ends in parallel to a Deans plug, and plugged both ends into my full sized Vbar, of course observing proper polarity.

I do have to plug and unplug the deans but I just feel better knowing that I don't have BEC worries. Torque HVs run great with this setup. 9180s on cyclic and 9188 on tail.

You do pick up the additional weight of the RX pack, but for me, weight is the least of my issues. My flying style and abilities never see the additional weight.

Also, got to thinking, that for some reason, most people shy away from using a switch on helis. Personally, I think there would be far more vibration transmitted to a switch mounted on a plank fuse side with a screamin nitro on the front, but all the years I have flown planks, I've never had any issue with them. It might be that using a Futaba switch harness, you have only one lead going to your RX or FBL unit, and the wires might not be sized large enough to carry the load of 3 digital cyclic servos.

Use a safe switch, they are designed so that if they do fail, it will be in the On position so you won't loose power. I have a Perfect Regulators Safe Switch 2. It has 2 leads that go to the Vbar (or other FBL unit) and a deans on the other end to plug into your Rx pack so no soldering needed if you use Deans on your packs.

You can then use the micro switch on the unit or a bind plug or even fit a pin and flag type switch to work as the switch for your Heli.
