Default 550 DFC PRO V3 - How long must I wait ?

Align has a new 250, 450, 500, 600, 700....... The 550 V2 was more like a face lift.

I'm waiting .... the list of upgrades you can get for a V2 is LONG. So where is the V3 ?

Good question! Not even a sniff of anything new in the 550 range.

I actually starts to worry that they are going to drop the 550 line as we have not seen anything yet. Probably (and hopefully) its just me being paranoid :-)

My old version 1 is still going strong and I really like it, but would be great with an updated version sometime.

I hope your wrong...I've only had my 550 for 6 months. I would be sorely disappointed if they discontinue it.

I believe we will see one soon.
With the new 615 in one kit, and thee hv servos in another. As well as the plastic in the frames. And new swash, tail, and turnbuckles.

WHY would they discontinue one of the most popular 6s 550 machines out there?

I don't think we have to worry about the 550 going away.

Alan Jr. says it is Align's best electric heli and one of his favorites.

The HV servos in a 550 will be very unlikely because it wouldn't benefit from the increased torque like the 700/800 classes.

The HV servos already add an additional £200 to the 700e kit so that would no longer make the 550 kit price competitive.

We'd most likely see the new DS615's, DS625, DFC head and new tail slider included in the kit.

Post counts on the 450/500/550/600/700 forums on Helifreak show the 550 is the LEAST popular of them all. Doesn't surprise me they left it for last.

Honestly I am suprised to hear that Alan said his 550 is his favorite heli. Out of all the Align Heli's it is the heli I like the least. I think most guys that Love the T550 have probably never flown another 550 size heli or may have come from a 450. Compared to a 450 the 550 is awesome in every respect but compared to other heli's in the 550 class I find the T550 to be slow and rather sloppy in the air.

This may be true, but the 615s are very possible.

That seems to be the general consensus from people who own X5's or others and Trex 550E's. I live mine right now and just enjoying it all I can. As my skills improve I may upgrade next yeah but it's my new favorite for sure.

Love my 550... with DFC setup flies fantastic and perfect size to put in my truck.. and uses my 700/630 Goblin packs.
