The long boom. I also custom fitted a stop to the lid so when it is open it stays up at ninety degrees. Took a few hours. Mounted a little block of wood at the edge of the box and the edge of the lid and then screwed a lid stop to those. Blocks of wood mounted with countersunk and caulked screws from the outside. From Lowe's. With the curved bail.

Works really, really well. I do not worry at all about my Hurri getting bashed or wet during transport. (Only when flying).

A hard golf case works fine for a plastic framed 550 with Rex 600 gear on it with room to spare. The CF frame is about in inch taller and it won't make it with the Rex 600 gear, but it will with the stock landing gear). I got my case for free, but you can find them at Walmart and other places for $50. The thought of spending over $270 for a case makes me cringe lol.. thats more than my 450 Dragonus kit with motor, gyro, servos, ESC and CF blades cost.

If you are referring to the storm case it measures 44 x 13-7/8 x 7 inside dimensions.

Very poor - I used to have a Greek girlfriend and she only taught me rude words . I am always impressed with how well you guys speak English - it's can't be easy when some of the words are very technical and specific

I keep meaning to take pictures of my Hurricane box. I built it out of 1/2" sanded birch plywood and stained it and added trim. I have a place for my Tx and my RealFlight Tx. I can fit all my chargers, batteries, tools and spare parts in it. I made it out of necessity when we went on vacation and I wanted to take it along.

It's sweet and I get lots of complements on it when I go to Fun-Flys. The only thing about is that it weighs about 50 lbs when it's loaded down with all my stuff.

I'll try to get some pics today.

I m just trying to keep up mate ..... If it wasn’t for MS word spelling it would be very difficult for me .... As so colorfully modelholic point out

michael88997 thanks very much for offering but I ve just realize that sending the case from USA to Greece it will cost at least 120$. So it would be better to probably build it myself or find similar to the pelican case kahn10 suggest from the local market.

Thanks all of you for the input

Don't worry Madedon,
I knew what you meant to say. Its just my perverse sense of humour. And my Greek is.....
non existent so you are already many steps ahead!

I found this source. A lot more reasonable than Pelican cases. Only thing is it comes with NO foam.
