Default Furion 6 on 12S

I just got a Furion 6 that is set up for 12S.
I was wondering if I should keep it at 12S(Hyperion 4035-560 motor) or change it to 6S or 10S.
Any thoughts? I have 6S 2650mAh, 6S 3000mAh, and 6S 5000mAh batteries from my other helis. I would rather not invest in 5S batteries.

I'm flying 10s with that motor.
Why not just use your 6s batts if you already have them.

Yes, that was I was hoping. Using 2 6S 2650 or 3000mah batteries, as long as there is no COG issue or flight time issue.

Any recommendation for the head speed?

Default furion 6 on 12s

Hi nameci,

I got a furion 6 too. I'm gone use 6s 3600Mah lipos x2. As long as it's just around 600gram Ea. A little over is fine too. total around 1200grams x2 lipos to keep CG good. your 6s 3000 mah can. But you might need add some little whight. for tail heavy. to get Cg right.

Aloha Joel, Cell-X ALLWAY!!!

I am running 6s x 2 with a Scorpion 4035-560 and am unable to get above 70% Power out and the Motor is too hot to touch. 12 tooth pinion is the smallest I can run. I have 2 5 cell packs coming, I'll see how that goes. A lower kv motor is probably needed with 12s.

Dave I think I saw a 11t mod 1.0 6mm pin on the scorpion web site .. ..

If you need some ballast I use a5000 on top and a 3000 life rx under it ... works killer

I can't go to a smaller pinion, unable to go any more forward. Too close to the swash locating pin.

I fly mine 12S with the Scorpion -560 motor and 12T pinion and CC 80HV v2. Vbar governed to 1900 and 2150. I use 2x 33000 Gens packs and a 2S receiver pack. At 1900 is flies great. At 2150 its an animal!

I have not flown it yet, due to weather here. But I'm very very impressed with parts quality/finishes. Looks like Whiplash is going to be my next purchase.

With the Scorpion 4035 and 12t The Swash locating pin is just a hair away fron the motor. Wouldn't an 11t pinion allow the pin to hit the motor?

You may have to take a millimeter off the pin.

12s is great, especially as you already have the gear.
Use it and never look back.

I've tried everything from 1850 to 2400. I think 2150 is the best for pop, flight time, and power. Anything after that and you're just wasting battery power/flight time.

Thanks, i have the pyro 700-52 way too much power quite scary really. Just ordered a 700-45 and going to run on a 13t with the jive esc, that gives me a nice power range to play with using the hs calcs.

For 3D I go up to 2300rpm. It makes the Furion ignore gravity. It's like flying on simulator.
