Just on a work trip, flying outside of some cheap hotel in Red Bluff, CA. Co-workers have never seen one of these things fly.

Default Finally got the nerve up to try!!

Got out early today before the winds got to bad, wind was 5-15 mph but got a lot worst latter on. It was good enough to burn three packs. I'm just starting to try the basic 3D stuff and this was my first time. Not too bad with all the wind.

1st pack:

Here is mine, I have had it for about a month and only taken it out a few times as the weather has been bad. I live in Seattle, so it rains a lot. Anyway, here I am hovering it in my living room.

Looks like you've got it nice and stable Dude, good job! But just think if a link or something popped off or something broke sending the heli out of control and right into that big screen TV and took it out!!! Just something to think about.

Yeah good point. But to be honest, the TV isn't that nice. It's a tube TV, and it's kinda old. I am really more concerned about it hitting one of the computers as those are my servers. They hold everything. But I thank you for your concern. I am off Friday, so I am hoping to get the REX out and hover it. I am not ready for FF yet, not even close. And I cherish my T-REX. I am going to build and EXI 450 Pro belt drive heli for learning. I don't want to wreck my t-rex. I really don't, not while learning. I can build the EXI 450 complete for about 150 bucks. And I have a futaba S9257 for the tail servo, so that ought to be good. I also plan on upgrading the servos in the T-REX to hitech 5065mg's and then move the ds410's to the EXI. But I am ordering some cheaper EXI servo's for the EXI 450 initially. They got good reviews. I really want to learn this. I have a blade SR as well, and I am not sure that is the best option. The T-REX is so much more stable than the SR. I think I would do better learning with a 450 sized heli. But they are a bit scary. What do you think?

Well from me I'd say go for learning on the 450 because that's what I did and I have no regrets. I may have progressed a little faster if I'd had a SR but I contribute my progression to learning and training my thumbs on a simulator and then getting my heli setup and tuned to fly like the 450 Pro on my sim, and then everything just starts to click. Just take your time and ease in to it and don"t be in no hurry. You'll have fun and get off on all those adrenalin rushes, just try to control the shakes in which I have a hard time doing.

Finally some nice weather so I could try hovering outside. Comments and suggestions are welcome. I am new, I have only been using RC helicopters since Oct 2010. So I am new to this hobby.

brought my heli while visiting with my parents....was practicing side in hover and flying in 10mph random gusts. Things were going great up until the 4th battery pack. Ended up catching a quick gust just as i was landing and it pushed the main blades into a little glass bulb solar driveway light. shattered the light ($4) and destroyed the ends of my mavrikk e-series blades ($30). Other than that no other damage...ohh well surprised i have gone this long without any crashes, time to break out the $7 EXI carbon fiber blades
