That's great. These portable charging boxes are great for getting all your stuff collected into one nice neat package.

Those are nice. Want to build me one? Lol. I have a nice Hyperion 720i duo 500w x2 charger but not near enough of a ps. I suck at electrical stuff.

If you have descent soldering skills and a good iron one of these charging cases is not hard to build. The only thing in your way is your imagination. If you don't want to hassle with the PSUs contact feathermerchant to supply them. Then there is always a turn key charger case from snjbird.

Ive finally gotten all the parts to make this same set up, minus a good charger. Thats next.
Id like to know if anyone knew how to wire the 3 pins to an illuminated switch. I can get the PS to turn on. But so far I've only been able to get the light to stay on constantly or illuminate when the PS was off.
thanks

Have you tried different wire combinations to the switch. One of the three pins is a ground.

Thanks for the reply. I did try different wiring. Think I have it figured out. My only problem now is that I bought 125v AC switches. Seems that the led will not come on if the switch is closed on a dc circuit.
So I will have to wait till I can get a break from work to go back to the store.
I'll post a pic once I'm done.

Update: I picked up new switches. Same problems. So I just wired them up to work as an unlighted switch.

These? They look like standard Radio Shack stock. I got the same from The Shack.

This is what I got from the shack...

They do look the same. Will the Shack posts hold an 8 awg wire in the hole?

Do the caps where the bannana jacks plug in unscrew? If so, unscrew them and see what size the hole in the post is. I got mine because they were heavy duty and I knew they would have no issue with 30 amps.

They unscrew, but will take a 10ga on the pass through.

Still should be more than adequate for our charging needs.

I used the same posts from radio shack. The binding post do unscrew at the top. Not sure if its allowing use of 8g wire. I don't have any 8g wire around rights now. I used 4 sets and so far they are working great. My Icbarger 306b should be in soon. So I'll post a pic of my setup then.

is there a wiring diagram that you can maybe sketch for this? i am interested in doing it since i rather spend $50 on two power supplies, than $300 on a meanwell one same equivalent. Also not sure how you hooked up the switches can you explain?

They have a nice size aluminum case that would be perfect for batteries and a transmitter.

I decided to make my charging box with dual 24V and dual 12V charging points. A set for my charging equipment and a set to share. Here are the binding posts that I will be using. They can be used with 4mm banana plugs, bare wire or split connectors. These are pretty heavy duty, they can accept up to 8 awg wire in the binding post.

I like those connectors; where are you getting them from?

here is mine...
I used two HP server power supplies and wired them in series pulling a 24V feed for the hyperion charger and several 12V for the smaller charger and 4 12V connections on the front for "friends and family"!

the wiring diagram for 12 and 24 is based on the plugs for the HP supplies, but the design will be the same for any pair of 12V supplies.

my entire setup is mounted in an Align 450 case...

cooling fan exhaust vents (one on each end)

the finished project...

I store all my lipos in a 50Cal ammo box...

Very nice case, I like it a lot. Like I said earlier, you are only limited by your imagination and you let yours run wild. Where did you get the diamond plate from?
