Default Rail 326's

Just thought I'd share my experience with this new set of Rails I got my hands on recently. They are by far the most well balanced blades I have ever flown. I used to get this vibe at lower headspeeds that I couldn't get rid of, even with different blades that I had balanced as best as I could. Now that vibe is gone.

On top of that, they fly beautifully. Very precise and very smooth. The sound I used to hear during high pitch maneuvers, which apparently was from the blades losing their tracking, is a thing of the past. To those that don't already know, the blade tip is what makes this set of blades unique. They incorporate a design that significantly increases the efficiency, rather than focusing only on what looks good. Considering that these blades are no more expensive than the other popular options, I highly suggest picking up a set.

Agreed, I'm surprised that size hasn't already been released. My goblin is definitely getting a set.

I just finished another four flights today and noticed that I had to turn down the cyclic gain a tad, not sure what that says about how these blades fly compared to the align 3G's I had on prior. I also noticed a difference during maneuvers that caused the align blades to lose their tracking. The Rail blades just 'bite,' rather than waste a lot of energy due to the blades not tracking.

I run Rail blades on my 600s & 700s, so I can't wait to get a set for the 450!

You won't regret it. I'm still in awe over how well balanced these blades are! I always gauge the balance by hand when I touch the head button after shutdown. These blades removed all the vibes I used to feel, perfectly balanced. In the 3 years I've been flying this 450, I've never encountered this kind of precision. Thanks Rail!!

While I completely agree with your performance review of the Rail 326 blades, I cannot agree with the balance. I suggest you still balance these blades as they are not paired by weight from the factory like Revs or CYB blades are.

The Rails do not flutter out under hard load like Edge or Rev blades did. They even sound more crisp in the air, however mine were 0.38 out of balance. The Revs that I just replaced were 0.03 from the factory. Once I got past the sight of tape on a $40 set of blades I was extremely pleased by the performance of these. The only thing Rail could do better is pairing them by weight from the factory.

I would like to know how out of balance my set is, but my scale does not measure in hundredths of a gram. I'm assuming that they're very close since I can't feel any vibes on the head button. If they're not paired by weight, they must have a unique manufacturing process to allow for precise mass/CG similarity.

You must have received a bad set because they most definitely ARE factory matched! I suggest you contact your dealer for replacement. I'm sure Matt Botos would swap them out if the dealer can't help you.

Dude, did you just try without the tape? I haven't balanced blades in forever.

Just to add to the numbers; my Rail R-326 set is 0.28g out of balance:

Rail R-326 Flybarless: 27.08g - 26.80g = 0.28g
CY Radix 325 Flybarless : 29.79g - 29.72g = 0.07g
Stock Align 325D 3G: 24.93g - 24.66g = 0.27g

I've only flown one flight using the Align blades and they were fine (unbalanced).

I fly many different blades on all of my helis and I do like Rails. I have a set for my 450, 550, both 600s and my e7. I also use their tail blades of all sizes.

They have always seemed to fly good on my larger helis but I never bothered weighing them. I haven't flown my 326s but decided to throw them on my scale.

Rails - 27.01 & 27.28 This was pretty suprising

I decided to check a few other 325/350 sets I have laying around to compare

V-blades - 21.44 & 21.42
Mavrikk - 28.38 & 28.42
Radix 350s - 37.50 & 37.52
Radix 325s -22.16 & 22.20
Radix 325 fbl - 29.48 & 29.55
Align carbons (all white with carbon stripe) - 19.33 & 19.27
Align 325D - 18.45 & 18.50
Align 3g - 26.43 & 26.57
Thunder Power - 22.21 & 22.11
Rotortech 350s - 28.37 & 28.42
Sonic - 20.13 & 20.21

I was pretty suprised to see the Rails had the biggest gap. I'll have to bolt them up and see how they fly. All of the blades listed above were weighed wth a Dillon gunpowder scale. Unfortunately it doesn't have a large capacity so I can't use it for my larger blades. I do have scales that can weigh them but they are only accurate to 1/10th of a gram.

Old thread, but here's my 2 bits. The Rail 326's are indeed, awesome blades. Had my first opportunity to try them out on my 450 today. I can honestly say I will not be buying align blades for this little heli any longer. The Rails are great!!

One more thing, mine were balanced near perfect from factory. Best set of 450 blades I've had yet.
