Use this code "SW10%" good till 01/31/2013 (gets you $35 off)

Also... "With two JST-XH balance boards thrown in for free - one for each channel - you'll be ready to go right away."

Me too. I won't (or shouldn't) need to upgrade for a while. I suppose to some extent the powerlab is also "future proof" as far as chemistries go. Granted you are limited to 8s packs but when there is a new battery chemistry, a firmware update is all it will require to charge them.

It's a neat charger, Sly. Congratulations!

Good package, better save my pennies, probably will charge a full size e -car or scooter/bike.

Go figure, they got e cars on the market that'll take a person to work and back in a day and then can be charged overnight (when rates are half in many places). And e cars can cost a nickle a mile in electricity, as much as a hundred watt incandescent bulb burning for 24 hrs.

That was exactly what was running through my head too... Started to wonder if Nintendo had begun to make RC-gear

Either deep cycles (my route) or server power supplies... a friend of mine has 4 of the 47A in series from http://www.feathermerchantrc.com
But be aware running this charger full output is going to trip most home circuit breakers. That's why I feel 3 125Ah deep cycles might be just the ticket.

Quick question.

If you are charging one set of batteries and putting another set to a storage charge, will it pull power from the batteries going into a storage charge to charge the other batteries and be able to pull power faster because of this?

It can do that. 200W max internal discharge, 2000W regenerative discharge (if you use deep cycles) but you can also discharge one channel into the other as far as I understand.

Sounds pretty cool, and I understand that it will support the MPA boards as well.

So far I haven't really had a need for charging more than 6 x 6S batteries at the same time, but that sounds like a really flexible system.

Just remember, "With great power comes great responsibiliy"

That's what I was thinking lol. Wonder why they went that way. Aside from the exterior I'm certain the PCBs are built pretty well. I've opened up a good number of iChargers and found the insides pretty clean. I wonder what the other big guys' answer will be...

I just finished charging a 12s stick pack with the 4010B. It worked well.. and I LOVE how much info is shown on the screen at one time!.. just everything.. even power supply voltage (good for monitoring my deep cycles).. just a pleasure to use. Lots to learn yet.

Slyster- how does its IR measurement compare to your PL8? Is it close to the same values, or otherwise?

Very close. It was showing 1.2 to 1.9 for my cells as I was charging last night.

Does this charger have RFID support built in like the new RC Logger chargers coming out this year?

Great! you made me look!
http://www.rclogger.com/Innovations/...Dual-300W.html

Very slick looking, not cartoonish or gameboyish at all, but limited to 300W per side.

If they release a version that can handle 600W-1000W per side, they will get more attention, unless it is priced reasonably.

I guess the bottom line is that there is no such thing as future-proof.

Check out the screen! I am going to power it with the dual deep cycles in truck.

Good luck with it. As to future proof, I'm still waiting on the next generation of batteries will be using the technology where you cell phone could run 6 months on a single charge. That was talked around 3- 4 years ago. I read different stories on different researcher make similar break through, some with not sure a high claim but I expect we'll start needing different chargers for different batteries within the next five years. Even at double the time I saw in research article, 10-12 minutes of flight on hard 3d. Question is can the helis take it? :-)

Anyway very nice, hope you get lots of use out of it!

Given there are some nitros out there running longer flight times than that, I think the answer is yes.
