Default Goblin 700 Comp and confidence

I maidened my Goblin 700 comp for real today. I've done some setup flights to get the vbar dialed in, but I don't really count those. Today I took it out and it was awesome. It still needs some tweaking on the tail, but wow does this heli fly well. I had a G700 before and it was good too, but I've also progressed from my (mostly sport) flying before.

So for the first time today I had the confidence to do: a complete hurricane, inverted reverse 8s, elevator tic-tocs, aileron tic-tocs, rainbows, and was going to try funnels but chickened out. I've done all these forever in the sim and was able to do most of them IRL today. Happy camper.

Question for the advanced flyers: are you guys able to dial in your setup instantly after one flight or do you spend days/weeks tweaking it? I've started tweaking with all my settings and it's easier with the VControl, but still requires lots of trial and error.

I dun really try to tweak to perfection and had vbar express on most of my machines. Just play with the express settings. The goblins had been able to behave well with vbar default settings.

Oh man, I feel for you. I know crashing is part of the hobby so hopefully electronics are ok and it's not a full rekit for you. I went out again last weekend and had another six good flights on the 700c. Tuned it some more and the tail is holding better. I almost had a dumb, but pulled it out at the last moment.

Good luck on your rebuild.

In answer to the op's original post.
I tend to spend about 5 flights tweaking the fbl system and then leave it well alone.

It's great when you find a heli your 100% comfortable with, it allows you to fly so much better and learn new moves easier.

After getting my 700c dialed in with the batts in perfect cog the flights were akin to a religious experience.

After just a couple of tuning flights it flys way better than my 7hv did after lots of work.
