thanks,

They are from different factories. The ones you saw on the pictures are aftermarket parts.

I realise that, what I meant is what advantages does the HeliDirect head have over the Gaui head? Why should I choose one over the other?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Ok, just looking I noticed straight away that the washout elbow links are part alu, compared to the completely-plastic Gaui parts.

I will be testing both to see more on performance. But the most difference will be price.

Sounds good. Price is a good difference because with the Gaui head you seem to pay a lot for what you get

Why are these parts not in the hurricane upgrades section of your site?
Hard to find when looking on site

Also related to this, I assume the main grips do away with all the silly business of heating to remove the thrust/radial bearings?

Mark,

The main blade grips are equipped with thrust bearings, tail not yet.

Yes they are in our Hurricane 550 upgrade parts

How much heavier is the CNC tail than stock?

I hate to say it, but I WANT it to be heavier! Sure would beat having a 1oz bolt stuck through my tail fin. lol

heavier tail assembly will allow for more/bigger/punchier packs up front! i'd like to run two 3500mah in mine, but am afraid to drop that much $ on something that might not fit. what's the biggest pair that can fit comfortably up there?

I'm running 6S FP 3700 Evo25's on ReadyHeli's custom CF frame. It fits fine, but I have to add about an ounce on the tail to balance out the pack. I might move the tail servo on the boom, but kind of like how it currently is part of the main frame.

All things equal, I'd just assume to get the "upgraded" tail, that just happens to be a bit heavier.

I have the Gaui CF frame and easily fit FP EVO 30 3200s, Hextronic 3300s. And I think I test fit EVOLite 4250s.

All are 2 x 3S. I am flying the FP and HXT packs, and with the upper pack as far back as I can go (motor) and the lower pack far enough back that the forward edge is almost even with the front of the battery mount, it is a bit nose heavy.

I was thinking of moving the tail servo to the boom. I also want to stiffen up the tail pushrod. We run 1/8" CF tube on 450s and this thing has a wire.

Ok, I'm thinking of getting a 550 XES PRO SE instead of the T-REX 500 and now I'm seeing all the purdy new CNC stuff, so that just sweetens the deal. Does this mean that Gaui will be around for a while and the 550 is a good Heli? Please help me spend my money.....
