Default Nano Out of Control Problem

HELP!
I bought a new Nano nCPX for my wife. About three weeks later the board stopped binding. I tried every fix I could find on the net. Nothing. I bought a new board. It flies erratically and uncontrollably. I’m an experienced mCPX & mCPX BL flier. I’ve tried several DX6i settings even though when new it flew fine with normal settings. This video shows how the blades turn when just moving the cyclic control. Normal?

HH sent a replacement board today. It flies a little bit better but I can still barely keep it flying. It pitches wildly out of control. And yes the cyclic control still activates the motor a little and spins the blades.

Default Nano Out of Control Problem

Have you tried setting up a new model in your radio and reminding?

My Nano does much the same under throttle hold and cyclic lever movement...so I don't think that is your problem

Have you checked to make sure all the servos are working and not hitting a wire or the canopy?

Check all the board connectors too...I've seen erratic moves when one of them comes slightly loose since you said you put in a new board

You might have a stretched/bent dogbone link or a bent servo pushrod

Have you checked the feathering shaft for bends - it might be loose too, that happens alot

Hope this helps...the nano is one of the best heli's Blade has come out with right from the box...Mine actually hovers better...inverted !

No, I have not setup a new model other than the first one when we got the Nano and the DX6i. It is binding just fine with the new boards. TX

Does it still do that if the main motor is disconnected? It sure looks as if you're main motor is getting power off the board from the servo outputs! I suggest you contact HH and show them this video.

I just tested it without the motor plugged in and the blades still turn. But when I hold the main gear I do not feel any tugging.

Something must be hooked up wrong mechanically. Can you take a few closeups of the head?

Check your feathering shaft...it's hard to tell, but it looks like it might be loose in the pics

Grab both blade grips, if there is any play, tighten up the nuts with the two tools that came with the Nano

I had that happen to Me too, and it solved the issue

It looks like your jesus bolts are unscrewed. That's the only thing I can see in those pictures. See how mine are almost all the way in, so no threads are showing?

Actually, the other thing I notice is there's quite a bit of negative pitch. I think that happened to me once when the shaft collar came unglued, allowing the shaft to go down. Or the other way, if the main gear had come unstuck and shifted down, allowing the shaft to move up.

EDIT: I just checked mine, and that's about where it should be at full negative. I have mine set to be 50% on TH, and that's where I left it last time I flew, so that's what you see on the pic.

I dont know if it could be the problem, but one screw in the hub looks really backed out, almost ready to fall out.
Make sure the screws are aligned with the flats on the shaft and tighten them up.

Indoor, were you able to fix it? If so, what caused it?

Default Might be a possibility

I noticed the screws too...hopefully he got it fixed, but he was offline by the time the gang figured it out yesterday

Default Problem Solved

Ok, problem solved. Flies great. The feathering shaft brass bushings were on backward. My wife has been learning how to do her own repair and got it wrong. I should have figured it out sooner. Thanks everyone for all your help.

FYI: Brass bushing small side lip should be against the grip bearing. Large flat side against the hub.
