Default Trex 450 4 blade tail authority

Guys,

Looking to do a trex 450 scale as maybe my first scale, and for sure my first heli with more than 2 blades. From what I gather looks like for a 4 blade head I'm going to want run around 1800rpm which is going to put my tail in around 7600rpm using the SE 4.24 gearing. Scale flight is the goal so I'm not sure if that's enough to keep the tail locked in good. The older 450's had a 4.95 ratio which would bring me up to 8910 which would be a bit better but where to find the parts?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Years ago, I built an Align EC135 on a TRex 450 with a four blade head. It had major issues with tail authority. I used the gearing available at the time for more tail RPM, and then built a cascaded 4 blade tail. It still had marginal tail authority in wind, but it was a heavy sucker. I think a fuselage with a smaller vertical stab would have had less problems.

The tail rotor setup:

I used a Blade CP Pro mainshaft to make a longer tailshaft, and epoxied on the belt gear. I've been away from 450s for a long time, but I'm sure the stuff is still out there to do a 4 blade tail.
