Default OS 55hzr regulator issues

My engine runs strong and cool for about 5 flights then regulator gets stuck open so you kno what I have to do.. Take it apart drain the fuel then it runs fine. What do I need to convert it back to exhaust pressure non regulated?

Plug the backplate hole and swap the reg assembly out for a normal swivel fuel nipple.

The wet side of the reg should have fuel in it. Does the engine die, run lean, bog to flameout, etc?

Reg could just have gunk in the valve or a pinhole or something in the diaphragm. Check valve is good too right?

Be hard pressed to get me to go back to non-reg.

It will get extremely rich then quit. Fuel coming out of carb and engine flooded. I've had it apart several times and cleaned everything with alcohol. Runs very well for about 5 flights after then same deal. I'm running it rich to keep the temp down but still has great power

Return it to Hobby Services and they'll likely replace it.
