Default Crash Damage

This is a Platinum V3 100A. One of the can things on the end got dented.
Is it safe to use? Can it be fixed without sending it to China?

If you don't know what those 'can things' are (capacitors) then you should probably get someone to fix it for you. If you know someone who is knowledgeable about soldering then they should be able to order new capacitors of the same type, open the case, and solder them in place. Pretty easy fix and if you sent it to me I'd do it for free...but I'm in Thailand.

Right capacitors that's what they are. Thanks TT. Can someone help me out with what to order and where? I can solder.

Just get the numbers from the side of the cap and do a search, make sure the numbers are all the same...I found some for an ESC of mine on ebay, ten of them for about $5.

Also, be sure you pay attention to polarity when you remove and replace.

Replace those electrolytics, they are rolled up inside and with the end pressed in they will likely just short out.

They are not expensive, should be a fairly easy solder job as hanging off the side the legs will be longer.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, but old hippie did, the polarity. There should be a white stripe down one side which indicates negative

I found the caps on EBay. I got case split open but I can't get the other part of the case off. It must be glued together.
I've tried prying it apart with no luck.
Anybody had one of these apart? People keep saying it an easy fix. So far it ain't.

Mine was the older style, it came right apart...sorry, but I haven't tried on the newer design.

I can't see any way to get this thing apart without breaking it.
Oh well I guess it's junk.
