Default 500L head speed ? Also CC ESC settings?

Ok I try looking everywhere. What head speeds do you guys run your Align 500L at?

My 500 is stock with the 12T pinion and 134 gear. On Align power tip page they said to start with 2950 rpm.

But curious what Hs you guys run it at. And also what settings you use if you have the CC ESC's.

3000-3100 seems to be normal for the 500Pro and the 500L.

What ESC settings do you have questions about? I don't remember all of my settings, but if prompted, it will trigger a memory! Also, I'm running the ESP version, so my gearing is different; my motor is a HK Typhoon 1800kv; etc. etc. So my settings will be somewhat different than yours.

Smile My Trex 500 ESP settings

Mine is a Trex 500 ESP also. Motor is Scorpion 3226-1600kv. Gearing will be different ratio (14T/162T).

Posted my CC information for help on discussion.

Also, Mr. Mel has a helpful tool for calculations on headspeeds. Your setup is listed in the "helicopter" presets as Trex 500, slant gear.

I run with 85% throttle, no governor.
So throttle curve is 85,85,85,85,85.

Like this you still get 5:30 minutes flying time with 3300 mAh battery.

My 450's I run with 95% to 100% throttle.

On the 500L ESC I leave everything at default.

Also a 3600 mAh battery works: 137x43x46 mm, flight time 6 minutes.

I'm using an external governor, but I think that something around 20 would work for governor gain. I have timing set to 5 degrees, and am also using 12 (KHz?) for PWM.

IS 3000-3100 possible with a 12T? I'm limited to 2800. seems to fly fine at 2800 though.

I know you can set the rpm to higher than what the CastleLink program says you should limit it to, so 2800 is not a hard and fast limit. As to what pinions people were using to get 3100 rpm, I can't tell you. I just know that was a common headspeed on the Pro. I don't run anywhere near that high on my ESP, since the higher tail gearing allows me to run a lower headspeed.
