YGE 120HV with vbar governor
Hi,
I am trying to setup a YGE 120 HV version 2.34 with internal phase sensor and the vstabi governor in a full size vstabi. It works overall following the instructions provided by YGE and other found here, and making the special cable for the sensor. I have some problems: -The YGE does not seem to recognize the full gas limit. The low limit looks OK. I program both with the progcard, but afterwards the led does not go off as it should when the gas is at the higher limit and in addition when running for some seconds at full gas the motor stops with 5 beeps (receiver signal problems, Empfängersignale sind ausgefallen). I am running it with the motor running without load, may be that causing problems? -In the vstabi log I get errors like "Governor Sensor no Signal" and "Governor Sensor Signal Failure" but it seems to work, it gets a reading of the rpm - I do not fully understand the parameters that are entered to the governor, the KV of the motor are missing (it could be checked that other makers do to check for consistency of the other parameters) and the pole has to be divided by two. If I have a 8 poles motor I am entering 4 using the internal YGE sensor. is this correct? -The flexibility for the target speed of the governor is quite limited, it is a Joker with a 500 KV Scorpion (rewired by Slowflyworld) and I cannot move much away from 1400 rpm -The bailout speed when I check the box to avoid it being completelly shut down is quite high, around 900 rpm Thanks in advance for the help |

Thanks for the answer. I had seen the videos from Mr Mel, they are very helpful. It looks that I have a problem with the configuration of the high gas end point since vstabi is filtering it. I will try it with the ESC output control by collective mode as you suggest. I have tried to set the gas limits disabling previously the vbar governor, and trying to adjust it later with the ESC output control by collective but it is not OK. I will disconnect the motor to avoid running it without load during the configuration.

OK, problems solved. Yesterday I did everything very quick. My mistakes in case they help:
-The led of the YGE takes some time to go off and one should wait, I expected it to be faster -It is pointed out as a white text in the video from Mr Mel, both collective and throttle have to be callibrated -100 to 100 in the mode that is used to program the governor, I had callibrated both but in different modes as it can be done when configuring vstabi, but for the governor programming the throttle/ESC output control by collective uses the collective and I had an old collective curve that was not starting and ending in -100 +100, I confused it with the throttle curve that was -100 +100. Thanks Dylan for the help! |

I have flown the ship. It works very nicely, specially the bailout, that was the main reason for me to use it.
It is a very heavy ship the Joker, hopefully for a 600 there is not much difference and a normal internal governor makes an equivalent job. I had the following problems/errors: -With some lipos (Turnigy 4000 40C) the tail was wagging after pushing it, like after 3 flips, with others newer lipos like Rhinos or Gens Ace it does not wag. -The YGE finished with the turnigy and the Rhinos with two beeps (under current). I am using a Scorpion rewired by slowflyworld. I have to fly the YGE with the internal governor, still did not try it. I miss the beeps indicating the number of cells in the YGE. It does not get warm, is cooling not needed in the YGE´s? A picture of the Joker: |
