Ok, my left stick is fine now...cleaned and lubed...all smooth now.

I had the same issue the left stivk was sticky. Simply open it up and respread the grease that's already their and it's like a new tx now.

Dude, I'm totally pro futaba(trex 500 w/6000+ flights w/zero tx probs) but I know die-hard spek/jr users. Basically, it's the static issue or low voltage that causes brownouts. Do some more research and you will find a couple of add-ons have been established: grounding wires, 2nd rx, and cap for the bec.

Regarding model match? Here's a benefit of "not having model match". I can program additional models at different settings to control the same model. why? I have a zero throttle model for doing swash setups. I have zero pitch curve model for doing tracking tests. Even additional models for weak batterys and strong batterys. Ofcourse, I always check it. If you have a lot of different aircrafts and you want to be "sloppy" then it's probably best you don't get futaba.
