Default Gaui x5 Formula kit vs Gaui x5 premium kit vs Goblin 500 combo

So i am a beginner that have a align 500 cheap clone that i bought used. Im starting to do some beginner 3d but the heli that i bought has some cheap electronics and don't respond well. So i decided to buy a new heli in which i can grow. The options i found were:

The goblin 500 combo for $1245
http://www.helidirect.com/helicopter...eco-combo.html

The gaui x5 premium combo for $1099
http://www.helidirect.com/helicopter...gaui-vbar.html

The gaui x5 formula kit for $559 plus the addition of electronics.

Any other suggestion is welcome

what you guys recommend me im pushing the limits on budget in the goblin kit as im on college i cant spend more than $1300 and that is a ridiculous amount of money for me?

thanks

Do you have to have a new one? You could probably pick up a very nice used one for half of your budget (well, maybe not a Goblin...), ready to fly, and have money left over for spares, etc. I would scour the classifieds. I would consider other brands too.

Like the previous post mentioned! Find a great deal on a nice used heli. The Gaui kit is really nice. I had one a few years ago and it flew awesome. Very stable, plenty of power with the Scorpion motor and very agile and fast if you set it up that way.

I can't speak for the Gobby, there are a lot of them out there.

You can get a kit and set it up cheaper. Good example is my X3. TGY306G's all around. Managed to damage one, before I used breakaway arms, but $100 for servos, instead of $200+ Motor is also cheap, a $20 HK motor. Nothing has failed me. I'm going for a 500 or 550 soon, also in university, which is $5000 this year, not including textbooks. Add the fact that I will also have to pay 25% more when converting to CAD...I will look for the best setup I can do for the cheapest. If I spend 1000, you may think it's cheap, but its the price that anyone in the US will pay for a more expensive combo ~1200

Sorry for the late replay have been very busy. Well i can buy used i just don't like the surprises: over loctite screws that wont come off, Broken screw in frame etc. Things that came in my first heli. It was my first heli so i was not sure what to look for. Used is a solution but i prefer new.

Right now im leaning more toward the x5. Any one has any experience with this platform: parts support, will the heli will be replaced soon for another model?

Gaui has some really nice stuff. There is practically no part of my X3 that I can see a fault in, other than needing very specific batteries. As for the X5, I would think it to be design in the same manner as the X3 and X4II: Strong plastic, robust, and predictable nature of flight. I am a little worried that a X5II will be brought out myself, something that is turning me away from getting an X5 myself. That, and two other nitpicks: It looks too similar to the X3 to me, and I am not fond of the red canopy (or the color red in general).
