Default Airtornics RDS8000, Scorpion -8 and 45A ESC, Soft Start not working

I have put together an EXI 450Le kit. Scorpion -8 w/ Scorpion 45a ESC. Soft start seems not to work at all. I have reset the esc w/programming card, chose ss 1 enter. I understand that I need to use the HOLD switch with a flat throttle curve. How do I set up the Normal Throttle Curve and Hold Throttle curve and what sequence do I follow to get this esc to soft start. So far no luck.

I tried this today and no luck either:
Soft start isn't hard on the ESC or Motor, the main thing is, it keeps you from stripping the main gear. All of my helis are setup for the slowest start. The way I set my TX up is in Normal mode the Throttle is 0, 0, 0, 0, 0. When I plug in the pack(s) and the ESC initializes, I flip the Throttle Hold ON and switch to IdleUp1 with the stick at 50%/"0" Pitch. Set the heli down and the turn OFF Throttle hold and let it spool up. When it's at max HS, take off and fly. Whether you are using Governor Mode or not you don't want a throttle curve like you have, even in Normal mode. That's where the slow start comes in handy.

when i used the rds 8000 with scorp esc, it was last summer prior to getting my sd10 so my memory might be foggy

i set up a flat line 90 in the tx and used i think it was the 8th channel slot in the rx and threw the right side switch.when i did it, i did some searching in the scorpion power system thread on rcg and found something about making sure the esc sees a "pure" on off from the tx.
hope it helps and sorry if it isnt enough info to help, dont have the tx or manual available to refresh my memory

Bought a Castle Creations Phoenix ICE 50. Works perfectly. Will switch Scopion V2 45A Esc to my Art-Tech F/A 18 Hornet since it refused to do a soft start.
