Default Spektrum Rpm sensor

Happy Thanksgiving. I'm building a Whiplash gasser and i will be using a ar7200bx on it. I would like to use the gov on it, is anyone using the Spektrum back plate RPM sensor pointed at the crankcase, if so , how does it work?

Thank you Leon

The ar7200 gov has not played nice on a gasser.

If you want to still use the 7200 add a gov.
The Futaba gy701 is one of the best external govs.
RC Japan has it for a good price.

I tried the original beastx and while it worked, it was much more nervous than other FBL units such as Vbar, BD and Ikon.

As Tom said, the AR7200bx gov has known issues on a gasser. The gov software was too twitchy for gasser throttle curves, resulting in the gov overshooting and hunting.

The current Beastx Plus units work great on gassers, both governor and flight characteristics.

Would you mind posting a pic of how and where you mounted your sensor for this?
