Like $12 a motor and $15-$20 an ESC.

The motors,ESCs and frame doesn't have to be expensive but I'd spend money for a good control board.

I've done lots of research on the hk kk boards and the new kk2 is pretty sweet. for mtors i was thing the 2212-10 1400 kv from rctimer. with 8x3.8 sf cc and ccw props. I've seen those motor i a few videos on quads and seem pretty sweet and cheap plus I use then on my planes so I know they are good motors. getting 28 ozs. on a 8 inch prop with 11.1 v battery so should be fine on a quad

I'm liking the idea of a micro bird and building my quad.

the other thing is idk what I can get for my 450 sport and all the extra parts I have that would be a deciding factor cus if I can't get a desent amount I would just hold on to it.

Well, I own a few helis and so far, my Hexa F550 with Naza and GPS is amongst my favourite.

I've not flown my mCP X in months.

My Prôtos 500 gets my favourite spot, but my F550 is close second. Carefree flying, very fast response in manual mode and aerial protography is super fun.

Take a look, bone stock, GoPro hard mounted to frame:

Get a mcpx man. It is perfect to bridge the gap between sim and your 450. Its really crash resistant and quite nimble. And, if you want more power just go bl. It will help your confidence a lot. Trust me,you wont regret it. They are great training aids.

the skills to fly is not what I lack. the nerve and the time to invest is what I lack. I think I'm gonna sell the 450 sport build my quad maybe pick up a micro this winter to fly indoors. I think ths is gonna be best for me at this juncture. I'll get back into helis in a few years when I have the money and the time to go to the feild and just fly for hours. right now I just do park flying and I don't feel safe flying the 450 in that setting. the quad seems to be far less intimidating and the fact that the blades stop rotating almost instantly makes me feel safer. the quad requirs far less servicing due to less moving parts which means it will be mor plug and play and way less to worry about failing while flying. tahnks guys for all your advice and input. this is the best community on the internet by far.

Get an mQx and ROCK OUT with that thing. You can fly it anywhere and it flies GREAT outside.

I second the mQX as a great way to get started, especially for learning orientation. I'm using it to get more comfortable with backwards flight. I haven't yet trained my fingers for it so I'm still regularly correcting the wrong direction. The great thing is I can do it in my living room after the sun goes down.

The mQX is amazing indoors and in very little winds. The Naza + gps will handle 25mph wings easily.

I love both. Much more than the mCP X.
