Default tail blow outs to the left with negative pitch

Hi,

when applying positive pitch the tail wants to kick out to the right (viewn from behind) which can be counteracted by a good blheli setup and a nice tail motor.

But when i apply negative pitch the tail kicks out to the left (theoretically tail motor should change spinning direction but as this does not seem to be possible fast enough it just gets dampened running very slow but this seems not to be enough).

So can anything be done to prevent the left tail kick-out on a motor driven tail? like more mass in the rotor-head oder more mass in the body of the heli? Any tricks?

Best regards,

MrTal

What settings do you have on your tail motor?

I replaced a mainshaft on one of mine today and the tail got really good. Jim Stoll tool, 3mm solid CF and 10 minutes and I have a new shaft.

Tail motor spins cc no matter what, speeds up or slows/stops altogether to move in one direction or the other. Main rotor torque takes it one way, tail motor takes it the other.
Increase rudder travel speed, put expo on aileron and elevator but not rudder, lower pitch travel and or throttle curve.
My stock bl can only run 75% flat throttle in IU, any higher and it blows the tail.

Not familiar with these bl setups but damped usually means soft, want a hard rudder response on a motor driven tail. So the tail kicks to the left on negative when you're inverted and to the right on positive when you're upright? That would mean too much tail motor power if the tail end not the nose of the heli is moving that way.

Normally the tail end would blow to the left when upright, doing positive pitch pumps when you're flying the heli with the tail pointing at you.

If you're tail motor is working too well, maybe try adding expo to rudder and or reducing it in travel adj menu, maybe a smaller tail rotor?? Idk that's a new one if that's the case, usually have the opposite issue with motor driven tails.

Scratch that, tail blow to the right on positiveis too little tail power. Need to keep my mouth shut post 4:20 lol. Try adding rudder in travel adj, or if your tx lets you give it 110% in d/r menu, reducing throttle, lower pitch travel. Any one or combo of these should help.
