Default SD10G bind with Blade???

Not sure this possible, but I'm wondering if it is possible to bind an Airtronics radio with a Blade heli. With my limited knowledge of electronics,I would think that there is a resistor or component of some sort on the circuit board of my MSRx that,if swapped out, would allow me to do this.I would love to have the mixing capabilities of the SD10G available on my micro heli.Am I just dreaming?
Thanks in advance!

Nope will not work. I would have a MSRx myself if I could do it. I can not talk myself into buying a radio just to fly that little thing.

Default Oh well

I might just buy a used DX6i and fly it with that.I spend a lot of time in motels. So I like the size and convenience of my MSRX...just wish I had some mixing options.I was hoping that there was an electronics wizard here that knew how to change the frequency from JR to Airtronics since I already have the radio. Thanks for the reply!

It's a lot more to it than frequency.

I have considered getting a used DX6i myself, but I couldn't find any much cheaper than a new radio without receiver. The high demand for these radios due to the mCP X hysteria makes them retain their price very well.

There is a way to do it, Ive seen it. There is a way to hack a Spek reciever to make it transmit. Problem is I cant find it. Search around enough and youll find it. Post here when you do so we can all work on it.

I bought one of those Deltang units but can't get it to work.
I've started a thread here with a question about the SD-10G trainer port...

The voltage coming out of the SD-10G trainer port is too low. You will have to rewire the port and get power from another part of the incoming power board.

The funny thing about that is that it has enough voltage (3.3 volts) but the voltage drops down to .9v as soon as you put the load of the Deltang on it.

I'll just power the Deltang separately, that's way easier than cracking into the radio.

Nice! You wanna do a quick review of it and let us know what you think and the steps you took to get it to work?

I did a quick post here:
https://www.helifreak.com/showpost.p...94&postcount=3
I still need to put it in some sort of box so it can be easily velcro'd or strapped to the transmitter.

Getting it working was fairly easy, I used an old S-video cable as the donor for the connector, and an old servo lead for the wire. The most confusing part was the instructions that came with the Deltang unit, but the designer was very quick with email replies when I pleaded for help.

When I get the installation finalized I'll post more pictures. Meanwhile, here's a link to a really neat installation on an older JR transmitter:

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...14&postcount=1

I hope to do something similar, except I'll have a 1S lipo and power switch in my box too.

Here are a few pictures of my finished installation of the Deltang unit on my SD-10G. The container is a plastic Q-tip box, and it's the perfect size! The pushbutton on the bottom is connected to a bind plug, and a regular receiver switch is in the lid. Power is provided by a 1S 240mah lipo which is good for 10+ hours per charge. The entire box clips to the back of the SD-10G using 3M Dual Lock and fits perfectly up under the carry handle, then you just plug in the connector to the trainer port and it's ready to use.

Did you say that you get about a 100ft range with it?

Yes, something like 100 feet. I was able to get two houses down my street when range testing with a HK orange receiver. Haven't actually tested range with the mcpx.

Thanks Keith! It's working well so far. Now I'm investigating a way to get a full range configuration like this....
