Does it really fly that much better?

I recently got a Trex 450SE V2. I was going to get the Mini Titan but stopped in the LHS by my school (only carry a few Align things) and walked out with a Trex. Didn't really think much about it. I've been wondering if it is what I really want considering I was all set to order the Mini Titan til I went to the LHS for some glue. A lot of people that have flown both say it really does fly better than the Trex. Is it really that much better? I'm also a little sick of the sloppiness of the tail and head on the Trex. Its kinda annoying to take a new kit out of the box and have slop in quite a few places...

The Mini-Titan has it's fair share of slop like the t-rex 450.... really not enough to hurt anything. It flies more stable because it has a larger main rotor disk. It's a tad heavier too and that makes it more stable. It's not as pretty as the Trex 450 but it flies a little more like a big heli. It's easier to work on too with less parts.

If you decide to make the change then get the SE model.

If your looking for the hot ticket in a 450 size heli with no slop, go check out the new RotorWorks Outrage G5. It's hands down king of the hill in the 450 size bracket and will be out in a few weeks. It will bring a T-rex 450 & a Mini Titan down on it's knees begging for mercy. I will be selling my Mini-Titan and making the switch for sure!

I'm also looking at a new 450 size heli. My first and only is the mini-Titan but I'd like to get something else to fly when this one is down, waiting for parts.

I was considering:

- mini-Titan SE (advantage of having spare/swapable parts)
- Miniature Aircraft Bandit 450
- Beam E4
- HDX450SE
- T-Rex 450SE

Seeking opinions. Keep in mind...

"easy to fly for new pilot"
"easy to repair"
"fast access to parts"

Well the RotorWorkz Outrage G5 will be easier to fly because it runs 350mm blades so it's going to be really stable. Easy to repair too.... fast access to parts may be a problem but from what I'm told it it uses a few trex 450 parts. You should ask Charley about spares on the RotorWorkz G5 forum. One more thing it runs on 6s 1300 packs!!!! It's a beast!

Yes the Bandit 450 is PHAT (Pretty Hot And Tempting)

I'd still rather have a Outrage G5 for a few reasons.

1. Doesn't have thermal slow down because it is designed to run on 6s 1300 Lipos. You may ask "WHO MAKES A 6s 1300 Lipo?!" RotorWorkz has come out with a new line of Lipos called OUTRAGE XP25. I've been using a couple of the 3s packs on my Mini-Titan and I must say they rock!!! I've never had a pack come off my heli that cold. The 6s 1300 Lipos are priced at $69.95!

2. Larger rotor disk means more stability. 350mm blades!

3. Low amp draw.... If I remember correctly Charley told me it runs around 12 or 13 amps

4. The head is designed to be very flexible to suit your flying style and ability.

5. Pitch 15+/- Achievable

Shane, my Mini Titan is as stable as a contra rotating 4 channle heli, cant get any easier than that.

the RC-TEK skyshark looks pretty nice. i've never seen one, but i do have a skyshark tail on my trex 450. it came with the weight mod for under 50 bucks.
