Default Gyro Question

I have a 401 w/9254 on a raptor 50. I have been flying this setup as is for a few months now with no issues. Today I went flying and the tail twitched a few times, twice during normal flying and twice in a hover. It seems to always go to the right, and then it comes back to where it was originally (pretty much). Is this a gyro issue, or rudder servo issue. I have no idea how old either of these are, they came on the heli used.

Thanks,
Brian

My twitching problem with my 401 was due to insufficient vibration isolation. I added more foam tape and the problem went away. Your mileage may vary.

Could it possibly be a sticky oneway bearing, engine fuel mixture or a questionable glow plug?

Just a thought

I think I found my problem. I took the case apart on the 9254 and there was a small amount of fuel residue on the circuit board. I sprayed it full of contact cleaner and let it dry and have had no further problems (for 6 tanks at least).

Mine has developed this same problem. I already had the servo out for a cleaning and inspection so I am going to try the other suggestions. I added a piece of velco strap around the gyro and think it maybe the problem or need to add some more foam tape under it.

The 9256 servo has rubber O-rings to help seal the servo from fuel. Older helis mostly had boom mounted tail servos in the day, and they would always get messy with fuel. Many guys would seal up the 9254 with shoe goo or silicone sealant to keep the fuel from getting at the circuit board.

I sprayed some Corrosion X on my 9254 circuit board while I was in their. Ever since it fixed my Align 2-1 switch, I seem to be spraying it on everything.
My servo is located way away from any Nitro oil, so I doubt it is an issue.
