400 swash leveling tool

Free leveling tool:

Disable motor, put in ST-1, throttle midstick. Now fold the blades like your going to use the blade holder for storage. Line the blades up so they run parallel to each other and don't hit the flybar. If you are at zero pitch with the flybar level the blades should line up. Now slowly rotate the main shaft with the bottom gear. If the blades remain even all the way around congrats your swash is level. Adjust servo links as necessary to get the best you can.

I use a trex450 leveling tool. I am a newb, so the more perfect the easier the heli will be to controll. But, any 450 size tool will work. Check ebay.

You can buy a swash leveling tool for less than 10 bucks. Precision is everything when it comes to a good set up.

450 Pro leveling tool is made for a larger main shaft. Has to be any 450 that is not pro.

Is the leveling tool really necessary? My swash always leans a little left to compensate for the tail rotor pushing air right. Right? So the tool would only get you in the ballpark

Swash should be level man. The tool is the most accurate way . Ballpark is your eye. Compensate with right aileron not a tilted swash

Agreed ,,a level swash doesnt mean you wont have slight drift,but your blades will track dead nuts when you have a perfect mechanical setup. ..

+1 Spot on every time..I keep saying it but just to be boring again..,SETUP,SETUP, SETUP... I know sometimes it can be a pain..but think of it like this,

a) You'll learn from it...
b) You won't have to keep guessing and go from one suspect part to another
c) When you've done it..you'll have a decent flying heli
