Deep Cycles have a MAX charge rate of 1/10C. Doing this all the time reduces life span.
Recommended is 1/20C.
On a 100Ah 1/10C=10A
1/20C=5A

I have seen a drastic reduction in capacity of my 1yr old DC's. Understandable though as they've seen nothing but abuse.
They'll get me through this season if I don't share them (Al) but next time I will purchase at least 125Ah units.
Do they come any bigger than 125?

Have they been taken down to 50% of the sticker Ahr? Just like every battery the more you crank (amps pulled) on it the less capacity it has to deliver. This is why the 50% rule should be based on a reserve capacity and not the sticker capacity.

When they lose power where Mike D. (Commodore) lives it seems like they are always one of the last to get power back. The recent storm we had in the DC area had tons of people without power. For some reason it's always certain areas that are without power for days and days.

I have a small car, thus use 2 deep cycles in series. At our fun fly last weekend, Me and another guy flew all day 8a-10pm on two deep cycles. We charged every thing we had before we went to the field and then both flew all we wanted. We were flying two Gaui X7s, X5s, X2s, Mini Protos, and even charged another guy's 550E pack. I was actually pretty impressed that the batteries lasted so long.
