New to the hobby

My name is Dave. I'm 49 years old and live on Cape Cod. I've been in the hobby about a year. I have a Blade mcpx and a DX6i. I also have and use the Pheonix flight sym. I'm a good sport flyer and can perform some 3D. I'm going to take the next step this winter and purchase my first 450 heli. Going to build a T-REX 450L Dominator.
The build looks pretty straight forward, but I have questions about the Tx & Rx choices. If I use my DX6i I will need a receiver, such as an AR6100e. If I want to use satellite receivers, I have to purchase a new Tx with at least 7 channels. I know both will work, but need some expert advice.

Hi Dave, Its hard to recommend stuff for guys. So much depends on your personal likes and dislikes. Just start reading, and maybe asking some questions in the Forums. The Search function at this site can find almost any answer to questions, and of course there is Google....which usually refers you back the HeliFreak since its the best and largest heli website.
