Question removing the paint from a fiberglass canopy?

I had a nice looking fiberglass canopy that's no longer looking so nice. After a crash the fiberglass is in reasonable condition but the paint is trashed. Alot of it has flaked off but the rest is stuck pretty strong.

Does anyone have any experience or ideas for removing the paint back to the raw shell so I can re-paint? I obviously don't want to damage the raw shell too much in the process.

Cheers

Wet sanding the paint is the best way.
