What to buy 130x or 250se??

Hey guys I have all the larger helis and a little mcpx which is a good orientation training aid but has a weak tail and ends up grounded in practicing hurricanes etc,so I thought I might look at buying a trex 250 instead but just saw some vids on the 130x,what to do???

I have a 450 and I'm going to go 130 rather than 250/300 so I don't break blades when I crash. But the 130X just got pushed back so you'll have to factor that into your decision. If you don't crash much and your flying space allows for a 250 then go for the 250

If you are trying to learn orientations, I'd stick with the mCPX, maybe do the tail boom extension to hold the tail better. From what I gather, a hurricane is basically a really fast circuit. My mCPX tail holds in these maneuvers so I think it is just an issue with the setup.

However, i take it that you have the heli bug we all do haha. In that case, I think I'd go with the 130x. I have a 250, its cute and all, but maintenance is a real pain. If the 130x is anything like the mCPX, i'd expect a relatively trouble free maintenance as opposed to the 250. Plus, you are getting a flybarless system in the 130x for under 300. I think adding flybarless to the 250 is over 200 in addition to the kit.

Not really learning orientations ATM,more wanting to use it as a tool for practicing 3d maneuvers with out the panic you get trying new 3d tricks with a 700

In that case, i'm in a very similar situation as you. Anyways, with my 250, I don't the same locked in feel as I get with my 450 or my 600. It feels sloppy. To be honest, even my mCPX feels better than it. Maybe some would disagree, I have always wondered if there was something wrong with my setup. Anyways, when I was still flying my 250, i remember that most of the time spent with it was doing modifications in order to make something fly right. First it was the tail, then the motor etc.... just bunch of problems.

And for that reason, i would wait for the 130x. I am hoping that it is as capiable as the videos seem to show.

Well I do like the mcpx ESP when you crash it the pick it up and fly it again,and to be honest crashes were mainly caused from tail blow outs,anyways il wait for the 130x meanwhile I gotta finish my f50 lol

I suggest you have a look at the X2, its a little larger than the 250 (flys 255mm blades) but is more stable for that. It also has excellent power (comes stock with the scorp motor most put in a 250). Tail design is better as well.

A HH sponsored pilot came to our funfly today and let me have the privilege of flying his 130X. Its an amazing heli and I'm definitely getting one. It really inspires confidence and just seems to flow from one maneuver to the next. I would say it flies better than most T-Rex 250's I've seen. My 250 flies particularly well with a BeastX but the 130X holds it's own and I felt I could put it through any maneuver I could with my 250. What is really amazing is how durable the 130X is. I was expecting it to be much more fragile than the mCPX but no it was just as durable. I saw the HH pilot crash it a few times into grass and there was no damage at all. Once again HH have scored a winner. Can't wait to get mine.

Back about 2 years ago I had a 250 with a Viper motor on it right when those motors came out, it was a super bird, solid and strong, but NOT the one I ever wanted to crash. For bashing I had an SR120 back at that time. Nowadays the MCPx is so-so good for that but the 130 will be likely the perfect heli for careless fun.

Looking at the parts costs for the 130X on RCBoca, the cost of fixing the 130 will be nominal (if any) compared to the 250 where you do pay for your mistakes.

So if you want a solid small heli, get a 250SE, a Pro or maybe a Gaui 200 with a beastX or a MiniV. If you want a heli that you can crash 3 times in one flight, get a 130X .

Align have been quite quick to get in first by releasing the 250 DFC Pro, with TT. My friend picked his kit up a couple of days ago. I'm hoping I can upgrade my 250SE with the TT parts but I'm not interested in the DFC head. What I have works and I don't want to mess with my BEastX settings.

However, I think the 130X is going to really damage 250 sales. It does 99% of what the 250 does and you can crash it without having to spend money. Its a no brainer decision.

The 250 is quite twitchy, even FBL, and I know what you mean by it not feeling locked in, don't think its just your setup. I love my 250 though, it's small enough to fly in the street or in my backyard, but flies just as fast and can do anything a 450 can do, not to mention the roll and flip rates on it are insane.

I don't think the 130x is in the same league though, the 250 is alot more capable than a 130x, but also alot less crashable. Really don't think the 130x is gonna affect 250 sales, as the 250 is competing more with the 300x than the 130x.

My 250 SE with DFC and BeastX is by far the most locked in heli I have (my other FBL's are mrsx, mcpx and a 450SE BX). I wouldn't call it twitchy either, just responsive - it's very flyable. the DFC vs Align FBL head made it even more locked in

I'm very much looking forward to the 130X though, I think that it will make an excellent garden and impromptu park flyer

Hmm thats different to my experiences with it. My 450 and mcpx have more of a locked in feel than the 250. Changing from DFC from align FBL for me just meant I had to lower my gain by 2 clicks, as for handling it didn't seem to make that much difference. What servos are you using?
