Went with the align 700x, helidirect has a supercombo with lipo deal going on. Super stoked, at the moment my biggest heli is a logo 550sx!

The Trex 700X is a great heli and unbeatable bang for buck... you will love it!

It's a pretty straightforward build but if you do come accross anything you want to check just shout. A couple of minor things I'd highlight initially is:
  • The canopy - it's super lightweight and beautifully finished, but thin and fragile, so be real careful with it as it's a shame to crack it before the heli even turns a blade (ask be how i know)
  • The tail pushrod, - it's bit on the short side which only gives a few threads engagement into the links. The easy fix is to use a longer link on one (or both) ends. There is a thread i started in the 700 heli forum that discusses it, quite a few have the same issue.

I don't think you could have made a better choice for your first 700 - endless hours of fun.

Congrats bud, I'm almost building up my first 700 as well. I went with a new to me NX7 from the classifieds. I can't wait to spool it up for the first time.

YAy Me too.

It is neat doing the whole breaking in of a new setup again... every time I think about it I realize what part of the Heli club I am buying into. I always wondered why every DieHard fanatic always had at least one 700 in the fleet. 12s also, this is my first foray into that.

...I'll invest pretty much anything at this point, no guilt. Not to mention the patience involved.... the burning " I want to get it into the air fast as possible" is gone.

BTW, Now I can tell all my friends that my "550 is the small one! "

Good luck with the build!

Congrats! The only problem with a 700 is that after you buy your first one, you'll probably need a second one in case the first one's down. Then you may want a third one for a different feel. Then why not another one to justify all the 12s or 14s packs you just got.

You forgot to mention the portable gasoline generator. I bought one this week to avoid changing multiple large 6s batteries at home. Now there is one more reason to buy even more 700 birds.
