Default Scorpion hk 4035 turns without resistance in both directions

Hi Guys
I recently purchased an old Logo 600 with a Scorpion Hkll 4035 - 560kv motor. It Flies flawlessly, but since oiling the bearings, the motor now turns almost without any resistance by hand in both directions.

I have never owned a Scorpion motor before, so I am not sure if I need to be concerned about this. As stated before, the motor works perfectly with no signs of any defects. It gets hot, but only mesured +- 60 degrees celsius 1 min after flight in 28 degrees ambient temperature.

Any info regarding this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Danie,
The smooth turning is a property that belongs to the combination of 12 stator teeth and 10 magnets in the rotor: these tend to turn quite smooth.
I assume you are used to 8 pole motors which have much more resistance when turning by hand.
Also, when you combine the motor wires there will be more resistance. This is normal too.

Thank you Bert for a nice explanation while keeping it simple for me.

I will now fly my heli with confidence.
