Default What's the difference - inner hole or outer - tail control arm

Recently I've been battling with tail authority against torque and one of the things I looked at was using the outer hole on the CF tail control arm (KSM40-T09).

I seem to have resolved the source of the tail issue but I never quite figured out why the tail control arm has two holes as it didn't seem to alter the resolution at all.

Anyone know?

In theory the outer hole should give a bit more resolution, less tail movement for the same degree of servo movement. In practice I agree it doesnt see to make much difference. The outer lines up a bit better so i tend to use that

As Gav explained it to me , gives the gyro / servo more resolution & smoother tail reponse. Also lines up better as John has said - making it smoother . Only used the outer hole so carnt comment sorry

Being the outer hole it has a greater circumference to travel on an arc for the same degree of movement as the inner hole on a lesser radius ie less angle moved for the same distance moved. Less angle moved = less tail movement. (Unless I've totally lost the plot !!!!)

Nope, you haven't lost the plot - I just failed geometry for a few days.
