Default Governor normal curve throttle

Recently set up my trex 500 with a CC ice 100 , calibrated end points and set my idle 1 at 2150 hs idle2 2250 idle 3 2400... software recommended setting of 30 throthle flat for idle 1, 70 for 2 ,and 100 for 3... Problem is I had to set point 1 on my idle 1 curve at 0 instead of 30 or the motor wouldnt spool up rest is at 30% working fine besides that. Was just wondering if that was normal? thanks for the information guys new to castle ESC and using governors

Set it as recommended and use the Hold switch to arm the motor and shutdown.

Nope. The ESC won't initialize untill it sees a 0 throttle.

Yes. So if you are not in throttle hold when yu power up. The ESC will not initiate and the motor will not spool. Only when you enter TH. will the ESC initialize ans be able to run motor when you leave TH

Default Governor mode

If you are using auto-rotation enabled and have throttle hold higher than 1 according to the manual and videos you should only have ZERO in your Normal throttle curve to avoid spooling, you lose governor speed 1 and use idle up for spooling up and take off.

Be careful if you have "auto-rotation" enabled and throttle hold higher than 0 there is a CC instruction on Governor mode with auto-rotation enabled which is clear to keep Normal curve at all zeros and use idle up to soft start and take off.

Yes. But he was talking about not using the bailout function. So TH would be 0

Yes im not using the autorotation feature at this time I did Messing around before I calibrated my throttle I actually selected it but it kind of threw me off become my throttle end points were way off something like 104 high and 68 low so I decided to not use it since I'm not working on autos yet.

Those values are not unreasonable if you are using the Autorotation bailout feature. Both my 600Pro and 550E have Throttle High 98%, Throttle Low 120%, TH 17% on my DX8.

I, however, assigned 0% throttle to Throttle Cut which I assigned to the Trainer switch. So basically, my ESC will only arm when I press the trainer switch. This allows me to have Normal FM 30% flat, Stunt1 70%, and Stunt2 100%.

Another popular variation is to have Normal FM 0-30-30-30-30. This configuration makes it so you don't "waste" Normal FM with 0% flat. It allows for arming the ESC in Normal FM at low stick, but still allows upright flight in Normal FM. Just make sure not to do inverted pitch pumps in Normal FM with this configuration.

Wont your heli spool up immediately upon releasing the trainer switch?

I use 1 of the switches and use mixing instead.

Not as long as TH is engaged.

+1 on norm flat 30 and throttle cut for arming esc and resetting soft start. Works like a champ. I can do loops and rolls in normal with -5,+12.

For some strange reason, CC recommends zeroing out Normal mode completely

I use Governor Set RPM mode, but only use one RPM setting, at 70%

Normal is then 0,70,70,70,70

ST1 is 70,70,70,70,70

Hold is at 15%

Auto bailout is on

Normal mode, zero stick to arm, then spool up, then switch to ST1

Switch back to Norm before landing

And one day you WILL forget to switch to IU, and go inverted. Especially with same HS on Norm and IU. Then the soft start will kick in, Auto Bailout wont help, but the earth will catch your heli. Trust me, that's why a normal of flat 0 is suggested.
