Default Trex 700N with Vbar Control satellite, anyone?

Would like to see how some have accomplished installing their VBC sat and antennae on this model. I've puzzled this until my puzzler is tired to determine a suitable installation. At first, I thought it would be as easy as acquiring a long enough cable to each aft to the tail drive/boom clamp as an ideal place for good reception. But, I've not seen that Mikado offers a VBC sat cable for Vbar that's long enough. Need at least 300mm, and ideally more like 350-400mm to each back there with Vbar in the nose.

Under the canopy it is protected from the exhaust and reception is no problem at all.

Hey, thanks for your reply and pic. Do your antennae tips rest against the inside of the canopy?

Right now, my Silverline lives where you've placed your sat. I am thinking of placing my sat and and antennae up on top. Just on a thin plastic template for test fitting right now. I will make it in carbon when I have it figured out.

Just mount it on top of your vbar an route the antennas out to the sides.

I don't like covering my Vbar. It will work well as above. No hurry to fly here. I still expect to inspect the rear bearing soon, and may remove the engine for a replacement.

I've made my initial attempt using carbon fiber pattern Kydex I found from Amazon. It's pretty tough stuff, so should be fine. Formed the supports for the mounting plate from it as well. Just takes a little heat from a heat gun. I actually spaced the sat a distance from the antennae ends so they wouldn't lie as much straight back. I found the antennae support didn't stay in place with only servo tape once the canopy was pressing against the antennae tips. So, I used a couple of tiny screws to secure it. Flat head screws attach the plate to the supports. Pics don't show well, but there's about 1/8" clearance between the mounting plate and the top of the Vbar.

Cool! I am playing with the new update on the Vbc and made a screen setup just for my two nitros.

Hi Guys

New to VControl / Neo and have the same question / request.

Changing my 700N (Turbine) over to a Neo and was wondering if they still mount ok on the little 700N FBL Mount?

It will obviously have a bit of overhang and not sure if I should try and make the mount longer (bit of CF) or just leave it un supported (servo plug end facing forward)?

Could anyone offer up some pics or advice?

Cheers

I mounted mine here, I had it on the fbl mount spot at one point but it didn't fit very well with the battery and the support brace right above the mount.
