Default Trex 250 DFC PRO Electronics

Good Evening All!

I recently got a good deal on a Trex 250 but it needs a FBL and cyclic servos. Right now I'm thinking the Micro Ikon plus a Spectrum satellite to pair with my DX6. I also thought I'd just go with the Align servos that come with the DFC. Being that I'm sticking with 6 channels does this sound like a good plan? I'm just advancing to flips, etc. so no hard 3D for a long while. I'm open to any opinions but want to get the best bang for the buck.

Thanks!

Check out the Turnigy servos from Hobbyking:

Tgy213c are good cyclic servos:

Or the tgy306g is a great tail servo:

I was using the servo’s that came with it but changed to DS416M after I killed one of them. For FBL I am using Spartan VX1n, fit’s in the frame nicely.

I'm not familiar with the Spartan. How was it to set up? And I'll definitely look into the Turnigy servos. I really want to get the 250 up and running. I can always update it as my skills progress. Thanks!

The Spartan is easy to set up and handles the tail of the 250 without issues.

The setup for the Spartan can be found here http://www.spartan-rc.com/products/v...ide.php?menu=5

Spartan's a piece of cake to setup, and flies great on the 250 :-)

Is it worth getting the HK servos vs the Aligns? It looks like it's only about a dollar difference.

The HK servo from the specs appears marginally quicker but also slightly heavier. Weight is critical on the 250, the lighter it is the better it flies.

Yeah. I'll probably just stick with the Align stuff. I converted my SR with the HK 250 kit and that was a pain. Of course a turd with a rotor would've flown better than the SR.

Download Spartan Studio and run it in demo mode. It will enable you to run though setup step by step and get a feel for it.
