Battery Power

I have a major confusion about this new ubec I got:

I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me if I am using this correctly on my setup.
I've got the top right wire going into a channel that i'll be using to control the gadgets hooked up to the top left wire.
now for the part I am trying to make sure I connect properly is that the bottom right wire goes into a channel in my receiver to "power it" and the bottom left wire connects to a battery. the part I want to make sure I get understood correctly is to which battery will the bottom left wire get connected to? should I install it so that the bottom left wire is connected to its own 2s lipo battery or should I solder that wire right onto the esc red and black wire and then make sure to remove the red wire coming from the esc into the receiver?
thanks in advance. the esc ill be using is the castle creations mamba monster esc on my traxxas emaxx, but if all goes well then maybe I want to install this ubec on my helicopter. I just want to make sure I install it correctly in order to avoid a crash and damaged parts.

You have it right, I would power it from the same thick wire that feeds power to your ESC. I've done this in the past by cutting out a little bit of insulation from the ESC main wires, soldering on the BEC power in wires, the covering with heat shrink or tape.
