Interesting... could save a plane or heli! But a fire extinguisher is better! Did you see that video, the fire extinguisher was right under the table!

Definitely not a replacement for a fire extinguisher, but if you can get your smoking turbine on the ground and discharge that while your buddy is running to it with the extinguisher it could save some serious $ in damages...

Yeah, there was a fire extinguisher under the table, but based on the hose attached it may have been water, not CO2 or powder, not that I'd want powder anywhere around the turbine.

That's why the AMA requires a CO2 fire extinguisher available whenever you fire up a turbine.

Actually it's a B/C rated, not specifically stating CO2.

As turbine owners, we DO recommend CO2 fire extinguishers.

I do like the idea of that onboard system, but it's probably better utilized in scale fuselaged models. Not sure how much good it would do in our pod and booms. Would be neat to test it out.

The others will put out your turbine, permanently. I hate to see the mess a power extinguisher would make of the inside of a turbine, even water would be bad.

Here is a Wren 54 case that has been hit with a Dry Powder Fire Extinguisher. The yellow stuff is hard as a rock....

I chipped the large pieces out, then took a scotchbrite pad to the rest.
