I finally pulled the trigger on a second-hand 7HV. I am super stoked, and can't wait for it to get here.

It is a V1, but comes with the V2 tail NIP. Will probably install that immediately. Then I will upgrade the rest of it to V2 over the winter followed by a Chronos conversion sometime next year.

one cheap upgrade that might be worth it is the 6hvu/chronos one piece plastic pitch links (v2 didn't actually have these yet). its a direct replacement. the other part you need is the grub screw to connect the pitch link to the link end. The only other thing you will want is the helical main gear and pinion. there are also aluminum slide rails for the battery tray but I never really thought they were necessary. just adds weight and the original design works fine. I would say the tail was the most important thing for v2 and you already have that. The older straight tooth main gear that is on your heli will work fine (also much lighter than the new helical) but the helical is much quieter. I stuck with the straight tooth for a long time to save that bit of weight but finally I gave in and its so much quieter now. Its an awesome heli. honestly I don't know if ill ever get the full chronos upgrade because it flies so awesome already. If the head has any slop in it (teetering of the spindle) throw some fresh dampers in it. makes a huge difference. all in all, you really don't need to spend a dime on upgrades for it to fly awesome. Like I said, the tail was the main thing that needed upgraded.

Sweet! I was about to ask if the SZ pitch links were a drop in replacement. Ill get some ordered up. I will likely do the helical upgrade next spring when I Chronify...
