Default Tail rotor linkage

Hi all,
I'm new here and to cp helicopters. I picked up a 400 and am going over the entire machine. I recently changed the gyro to the HS-5000 and I want to replace the tail servo with the HSG-5038. The new servo will not fit where the original is and will need to be mounted on the boom. My question is how do I shorten or where do I buy a shorter push rod between the servo and the tail.

Thanks

John

I did this many years ago on my 400 and the details are a little fuzzy but, if you put one end of the pushrod in boiling water for a minute or two it will loosen the adhesive holding the rod end on. Just boil and try to pull the two pieces (rod and rod end) apart. If it doesn't work, just boil some more. Use gloves or pliers to avoid burning your fingers. Then cut the rod to length and use CA to re-glue.

There is also a thread on this somewhere within this forum. You might try a search.

Hope this helps.

I got a section of small diameter aluminum tube from the LHS.

I cut a section out of the push rod, then used the tube to patch it back together with some epoxy.
