How about Compass 7HV vs 700X?

As of now there's two, maybe three places to get parts for Compass, and most of the time they're out of stock. I had to struggle through that with my 6HVU.

Dear all,

The comparison between T-REX 700X and T-REX 700L TOP is include all standard electric parts but exclude the battery. And it is about 360g-400g lighter depending on BEC battery.

Kindly check below photos of T-REX700X and T-REX 700L TOP weight comparison!

These are excluded the battery and receiver!
T-REX 700X weight is 3.62 kg

T-REX 700L TOP weight is 3.98 kg

GOOD Question! I REALLY want Align to make only a few and the BEST models for years WITHOUT anymore design changes unless it IS absolutely NECESSARY. I've heard enough of complaints from even Align dealers and owners, just darn FRUSTRATED.

Last but more important as well is MAKE them look SLEEK and like a REAL helicopters. Take Goblin fuselage as a hint Align!

They are not, they are normal threads.

Cool thanks,
I'm going to purchase all the new FL head parts - Swash, head block, rotor arms, control arms and pitch links and install on one of my 700 DFC V2. I will be able to see if it flys different compared to the DFC as I have 2 identical models

One bolt is located perpendicular to clamping slots machined into the hub, so as its tightened, it clamps the hub to the main shaft. The second bolt acts similar to a traditional Jesus bolt.

The plastic radius arms on the followers have been shortened, as have the linkage rods to the rotor head.

The main shaft is the DFC main shaft with a clearance hole instead of the M4 threaded holes.

There may be additional tweaks to the servo positions, but I have not finished my model to compare it to my 700E DFC.
A lot of shops are listing the 700X hub as compatible with the Trex 700E and 700N which is misleading as you need a new mainshaft and and radius arms in order to use it. Additionally a lot of them are getting the new 700X shaft and the old DFC shaft confused as well.

Kind of a mess how Align released an updated FBL head (the hub was shorter than the old 700FL but not as short as the 700X hub) a year before the 700X head was released.

Ugh no, I prefer a traditional pod and boom.

It's a very straightforward build. I had mine in the air two days after opening the box!

Enterprise Hobby started a series of build videos which have some good tips, this is the first in the series:
T-Rex 700X Dominator Build Video Rotor Head Assembly Part 1 of 6 (36 min 32 sec)

They seem to have forgot to make videos 5 and 6 in the series but the first 4 are worth watching anyway.

Jezz,

The only things I found needed any extra work were:
  1. The bushes on the 'dog bone' plastic links on the tail pitch mechanism were tight and made the tail stiff to operate. I had to thin the end of the link slightly and ream out the hole a shade to get the tail to move freely.
  2. I found that the tail pushrod was a bit short and I wasn't comfortable with how much thread was left engaged when it was set up (others seem ok with it and havent had trouble so maybe it's just me?).. Anyway i made a thread about this which is here in the same forum so you can make your own mind up.

Thumbs up T-rex V2 weight

I was looking at the new 700x to replace one of my V2's but it seems quite a bit heavier than the setup I'm flying now, granted I don't have a 800MX motor, but I don't know if I need it since it weighs about 400g less. I want to buy, but the weight (and the elevator servo arrangement) holds me back. Does it really fly that much better?

Futaba BLS servos, Pyro-700 motor and Jive 120 HV ESC
Flying weight without battery: 3.2 kg
