Foam Vibration Pad for/under Reciever

Does anyone know where I can obtain the foam pad that sits under the genius receiver or something to take its place I would like to try the benmlee mod where you trim the pad and cure the 6 axis drift and I want another one in case I screw this up.

check out your local craft or sewing store... places like that.. it's just a foam doublesided tape... you could prob even make your own in a pinch... just using thin pieces of foam and normal doublesided tape...

well i haven't tried it myself....i fly in 3 axis mode, so i haven't really bothered with the fix... but from everything i've read, the basic principle seems to be either holding the pad down a bit firmer,(with a cable tie or something) or, trimming away part of the pad... the idea behind both is to stop vibrations on the rx... i get the feeling that keeping those things in mind, it'd be pretty easy to find/make a substitute....

I tried the trimming of the pad , didn't work, and I've put a cable tie around the receiver. But I just got wise and took your advise to fly in 3 axis, I can do it! and it flies great maybe a little expo needed but great!

that's awesome! 3 axis mode definitely flys better imo!! a little bit of dual rate and expo can really tame it down for you if it's moving a little bit quick!! congrats on getting it in the air!!! you'll have loads of fun with the genius!!!

Every time I think, "Maybe if I flip into 6 axis mode, I'll get a little smoother FFF?" I instantly regret the decision and change back to 3 axis. And there she stays forever!

i get the same urge every so often.... and every time i have, out comes the wallet and a new order for parts... so my mantra.. "though shall not fly in 6 axis mode!!"

My Genius came with an extra foam pad in the bag with the allen wrenches and such.

That being said, though I thought when I ordered it that I would start out in 6 axis mode, I managed to learn to hover just fine in 3 axis and after reading the threads about leveling the Rx and damping vibrations etc. to make the 6 axis work, I never tried it at all. I'm really enjoying this little bird just fine in 3 axis mode and see no reason to change it now

Wow, I wonder now about the 6 axis in the New V120DO2S V2, I;m getting one for Christmas. I hear it makes things smoother and more stable in 3D but can hamper fff a little.

I get the feeling that, even in something that's only a slight amount bigger, the vibes are going to be much less and the frame, all-around, will be sturdier. My personal belief is that the Genius is just too small and capable for the 6 axis to be useful. You break one tiny piece of the frame (i.e. one of the battery tray supports) and you get heli-wide vibration.

I've come to be used to the vibes in my Genius and wouldn't want it any other way!

IMO, forget about 6 axis mode because 3 axis is 10x's more stable and with a couple of days of tweaking my TX settings, my genius will hover in one spot! It's dialed in perfect! As far as trimming the foam pad under the receiver, I figured I would try it for 3 axis mode, and there was a very noticeable difference in how stable is flew! It's more stable than a coaxial now. I didn't feel like taking the whole plate off, so I just cut out a small square on the front right and left corners of the pad( as much pad as I could reach with my xacto knife ), and that's all it took! Like I said before, spend the time to dial in your TX settings like I did and you'll have one awesome heli. If anyone has any questions at all, I will be more than happy to share everything that I have done.
